This is a true story about what happened on Friday the 13, last autumn.
Parents were at my uncles house for the evening but since I didn’t feel to well they let me stay home or maybe I just didn’t want to go and my friends, well they had better things to do.
I was used to being home alone and besides I had Dug our lazy 10 year old boxer ().
The first time my parents left me at home on my own I almost broke by legs and actually broke my nose nut thats an entirely different story.
Before I was 13 my parents used to hire someone to ’babysit' me but usually I just came along my parents but I usually wasn’t interested in listening to grown-ups talk about politics and getting drunk.
But I’m apparently old enough to look after myself now.
They had bought me extra snacks since I was ill which might not have been the smartest since I was in fact ill but there I was with Coke and crisps and a promise not to stay up too late.
Since it was autumn the nights came early so when I looked out of the window about five o clock it was already getting dark and I could hear Dug snore on his blanket beside the table.
About 10 o clock I was watching a film on our telly, parents, not allow, home.
Near 11 I was starting to feel drowsy so I slowly made my way to bed.
I pulled the curtains in the living-room, we have quite large windows on the ground floor my mother liked when there was a lot of light, it made the atmosphere warmer.
That whole day I had felt like someone was watching me, I had no idea why until I saw something move outside in the garden.
I slowly dragged away the curtains, at this point I was terrified to look. At first it was dark but then I saw it to the side, the face staring at me.
I let out a loud scream, Dug started to bark like mad and I ran as fast as I could anywhere I could.
Panicked I ran upstairs and shouted for Dug to follow.
I got into my bedroom after almost running into a wall then locked the door and immediately started to cry.
I had my arms wrapped tightly around Dug and just sat like that for a very long time, thinking over and over what do I do, what do I do?
One hour later i finally gathered enough courage to sneak out to my parents' bedroom and called the number to their friends who were hosting the party.
I managed to tell them that I had to talk to my mother and tell her what happened, she got very upset, and told me that she and dad would get home as soon as possible.
One hour and 15 minutes later Mum and Dad came home and I started to sob and tell them what had happened, I refused to sleep alone so dad had to sleep on the sofa after of course pulling all of the curtains. Dad wasn’t frightened by burglars or at least he pretended not to be.
We agreed that it might had been a burglar checking if anyone was home.
We finally went to bed and somehow managed to fall asleep.
In the morning I was still pretty shaken.
My parents went outside to see if there were anything in the garden to witness that there had been an unwanted visitor but they saw nothing. We figured that there might be footprints on the porch so we made a decision to call the police. They told us that there had been several reports from the same neighbourhood and that they didn’t have enough traces to get them anywhere.
I spent the next week trying to forget until Wednesday morning when I got on the bus to school.
The bus was pretty full and as far as I could see there was only one seat left so I asked the girl if I could sit next to her but I couldn’t hear what she said since the only thing i could think of was her face. I was sure of it, she was the face from the window.
